Basic about Hong Kong Asset Management industry

Hi my dear readers, enough of pasting news here. Now I will start writing myself. In this post, I will try to draw a general picture of Hong Kong's Asset Management Industry.

SFC (add link here) is one of the major regulatory bodies of HK financial industry. It released its 6?th Fund Mangerment Activeiest Surveys 2010 last week. (link here)

Here are some of the major fundings:

1. Combined fund mangement buisjness (indcluding fund managnemt, advisory and insurance) of HK sustained growth. The total is 10,091 bn HKD, including 103 bn REITs
2. 66% of non-REIT fund management was sourced from non-Hong Kong investors..
3. 60.8% of the total 6,841 bn non-REIT assets under mamngemt was managed in Hong Kong/
4. Majority of assets managed in Hong Kong was invested in Asia, accounting for 79.9% in 2010.
